§ 13.16.040. Charges for collection—Use of system required.

All occupied residences and commercial businesses shall pay an amount to defray the cost of the city's garbage collection service according to the rate and schedule as may be now or hereafter set and established by the mayor and city council. The charge shall be assessed on a monthly basis against each occupied residence and place of business regardless of whether said residence or place of business utilizes the garbage collection service provided by the city. All residences and businesses are prohibited from disposing of garbage and refuse within the city limits except by way of utilizing the authorized garbage disposal containers provided by the city or by using a private disposal service which has been approved by the city. Any resident or place of business opting to utilize a private disposal service shall still be responsible for paying the above referenced amount to defray the cost of the city's garbage collection service. All garbage and refuse must be disposed of in accordance with all city ordinances, rules and regulations.
